Shwe Lamplight LLC is a small company. We make English-learning tools for people who speak Burmese, and we build them so that Burmese is part of the lesson from the very first page.

What we make

Shwe Sin Phyu is an English-learning app for Burmese speakers. It runs from A1 to C2 and has 72 units. Lessons include explanations in Burmese (which a learner can switch on or off), English read aloud, listening questions, and reviews that bring a word back when it is time to practise it again. How we work

• အကူအညီက သင်ယူသူရဲ့ ကိုယ့်ဘာသာစကားနဲ့ ပါတယ်၊ သင်ယူသူ တိုးတက်လာတာနဲ့အမျှ တဖြည်းဖြည်း လျော့သွားတယ်။

  Burmese and English side by side. The help is in the learner's own language, and it fades as the learner grows.

• စကားလုံးတွေကို ရိုးရိုးရှင်းရှင်းပဲ သုံးတယ်၊ အထူးသဖြင့် ပထမအဆင့်တွေမှာပါ။

  Plain words. We keep wording simple, especially at the first levels.

• ကိုယ့်အချက်အလက်ကို မရောင်းဘူး၊ ကြော်ငြာလုပ်သူတွေကိုလည်း မမျှဝေဘူး။ အက်ပ်က ဖုန်းနံပါတ်ကို ဘယ်တော့မှ အွန်လိုင်းမတင်ဘူး။ ဘယ်သူလဲ မသိဘဲ အက်ပ်သုံးပုံကို ရေတွက်တယ်၊ ကြိုက်ရင် ပိတ်လို့ရတယ်။ ဘယ်သူမဆို သူတို့အချက်အလက်ကို ဖျက်ပေးဖို့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ကို တောင်းလို့ရတယ်။

  Privacy. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with advertisers. The app never uploads a phone number. We count how people use the app without knowing who they are, and you can turn that off. Anyone can ask us to delete their data. See the privacy policy.

Our name

ကျွန်တော်တို့ ကုမ္ပဏီနာမည်မှာ ရွှေ ပါတယ်၊ အက်ပ်နာမည် ရွှေဆင်ဖြူထဲမှာလည်း ပါတယ်။ ဆင်ဖြူလေးက ရွှေသရဖူလေး ဆောင်းထားပါတယ်။

Shwe (ရွှေ) is the Burmese word for gold. You will find it in the name of our app too: Sin Phyu (ဆင်ဖြူ) is a white elephant, and ours wears a small gold crown.
